Yes, it is true, anyone can create results and do well in the real estate game, but ultimately there's only one PERSON - YOU, responsible for your own success or failure.

You're the CEO and the director of the board in your personal business. So look at this person in the mirror and have a talk with him. You must be honest and sincere. Are you trying to allocate the blame for lack of financial success onto someone or something?

Do you think it's the economy, the stock market, your employer, a bad real estate course you bought, an unfavorable real estate market, un-cooperating spouse, a bad partner or someone/something else that's holding you back?

Well, it's not. If you're looking around for a direction to point your finger to allocate a blame for something that didn't work out the way you wanted to - think again. The person who is responsible for all of the results you achieve, whether successes or failures are staring at you in your mirror.

If you are still in the 'blame or finger pointing' game, if you haven't learned to accept full, 100% responsibility for everything in your life - my friend, your maturity has been delayed and is yet to come.

But accepting responsibility for your life is only the first step. How do you go through every day is what makes the difference.

You can be the smartest, shrewdest, most educated person in the world, you can read every book on Earth and attend every seminar or boot camp on the subject of real estate - and never DO anything with the knowledge and insights you gained.

Or you can dream and talk all your life of the time WHEN you will start learning about real estate and making money with it. Dreamers and talkers create excuses so they can safely justify not taking any action. You can identify these people when you start hearing excuses from them like “I’ll Start Investing As Soon As….

a) I save some money, or

b) That demanding project at work ends and I'll finally have some time, or

c) I decide on what investment technique I want to get started with, or

d) I write a full business plan, or

e) I talk it over with my rich uncle and convince him to loan me money, or

f) I convince my 'significant other' to allow me to start investing in real estate, or

g) I re-coup my losses in the stock market, or

h) I can prove that I know everything there is to know about real estate investing

Well, there are thousands of easy reasons why a person doesn’t get started… that’s why there are so many people NOT investing… excuses are easier than action. The world is full of smart people and dreamers who are broke... and remain that way for the rest of their life.

What about those of us who are already in the game, making good money, but are FAR from fulfilling our TRUE potential?

That includes the author too, by the way. I look at myself and ask constantly - what the heck am I doing at this level of income? What can I do TODAY to add to my income? Not tomorrow, next week or next month - TODAY.

Why on Earth haven't we been doing things we know we should have? The things that could add a quarter to a half of a million bucks to our income? Those of us who are successful, also can fall into the “Excuses Trap.” We know what needs to be done, we just don't do it. We become complacent, we settle for a LOT LESS than what we can be.

A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT WE NEED TO SUCCEED IS CRITICAL… HOWEVER THIS UNDERSTANDING IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT ACTING ON IT!

Some of us run around like mad dogs, involved in thousands of useless gratifying activities, yet producing NO results. Others are too lazy and can't get their butts of the couch.

Then there are those who are too scared to take action.... Fear plays a major part of real estate and a good way to fight it is described in detail in the “Insiders Reports” area of www.reincanada.com. EVERY investor must read the article titled “The Secrets To Real Estate Success” by Don R. Campbell.

There are others who don't really know what they are doing and need education, but are too stingy or downright foolish - so they don't pay for it. Penny wise but Pound Foolish! Education is the cheapest investment you will ever make!

Yet there are others who mistakenly believe they can achieve an overnight success just because they went to a seminar and learned some techniques. They get their share of rejections and are ready to abandon the real estate ship… we see people take this easy way out all the time.

Some of us are enjoying a degree of success but have reached a plateau and need a boost to get to the next level. Some of us are making good money but have become too complacent and stopped growing.

Some of us have mastered one way of making money, but need to learn more, or perhaps expand our financial horizons and add new streams of income to our lives. Once again investing in our education… so we have many weapons in our arsenal

Some of us need to develop resources (find partners, private lenders, etc), others need to learn money making techniques, others need to learn marketing to create the flow of deals our way.

Yet others need to talk to somebody more experienced or watch somebody else DO the business in action, and there are a lot of folks who need coaching to literally get step-by-step instructions, (these three are the advantages you have as a REIN Member.)

There is NO 'average Joe' out there. We are all unique individuals with different (although sometimes similar) paths to success.

So, WHERE DO YOU BELONG? DO YOU HAVE A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? If not, then your assignment for today is:

1. Set aside some time and think seriously, why you haven't experienced the success others have already achieved, and if you are already successful, why your success is not as astonishing as it could have been.
2. Write down on paper what you need to do in the next day, week, month, quarter and the entire 2002 - to get the level of success you desire.
3. Commit to doing what it takes.
4. Start doing something TODAY. Large or small it doesn’t matter… as long as it is action.

Don't procrastinate, don't find excuses to postpone it until tomorrow or other more convenient 'free' time. This is a critical activity that'll make you rich.
